ALLS of condolence and congratulation are made without reference to the regular social account of visits paid and received. When a death

occurs, all friends and visiting acquaintances of the family call immediately to leave their cards, with expressions of sympathy as directed in the paragraph on "When to Leave Cards" (see page 75). Within from ten days to three weeks after the funeral a call of condolence is required. If there is more than one lady in the family, the caller may ask to see only the one member with whom special friendship is claimed, or may ask, generally, to see the ladies.
