doubt as to whether, when returning a call, it is allow-able, or even advisable, to be accompanied by a relative or friend who may happen to be paying the caller a short visit. On this point, however, no uncertainty need exist; a relative may, unquestionably, accompany the caller and be introduced to the lady called upon as a matter of course. But in case the lady called upon is announced as not at home, and cards are left, the name of the accompanying person should not appear on the cards for, strictly speaking, the call is not from her.
