You have a wonder­ful sewing machine which will make perfect stitches on any kind of ma­terial at any speed. You can obtain the fabrics and colors your heart desires. You have a selection of patterns from several sources, all of the latest styles. Let us point out the two most important rules in dressmaking. Fol­low them, and you will never have any trouble. First, learn the correct use of your sewing machine. This information is contained in the instruction book which comes with the machine. Second, follow the de­tailed instructions on the pattern. Let the individual touches come later. Nearly every failure in making a dress can be traced to a failure to follow instructions. Don't attempt too complicated a pattern at first-start with a simple pattern. Learn the essential seams. Practice on the cheaper materials. But, above all, follow the pattern strictly and you will be sur­prised to see how quickly and easily you will become an expert dress­maker.
