Creating the Unique Baby Shower Invitation

***Warning: These baby shower invitations are not for the faint of heart. If you think Martha Stewart’s crafts are too complicated, you may not like making these baby shower invitations either.***

Crafty, eh? Do you enjoy the smell of new paper? Hanker after fresh felt-tip markers? Then you may be the kind of person who would really enjoy creating handmade baby shower invitations.

1. Choose a theme. Here is a list of possible invitation themes. Ideally, your invitation should have the same theme as the baby shower.

Baby Boy

Baby Girl

Baby Animals

Diapers

Flowers

Trucks

Boats

Dolls

These are only a few suggestions. You can really have a fun time with this.

2. Next, choose a medium for the baby shower invitation. Most people would select a high quality card stock.

3. At this point, decide on the design for your invitations. Whatever it is, it should be something you can easily duplicate. You can make your baby shower invitation in a unique shape, or do a standard shape and embellish it in an unusual way.

4. For an invitation for a “trucks” themed baby shower, you could cut out a simple truck outline, with the truck bed twice as tall as it should be. Fold the truck bed down, and voila! A cute place to write all the baby shower details!

5. For a standard-size invitation, use watercolor paper and paint some very light flowers covering the invitation. After the paint dries, use a matching pen in a darker color to fill in baby shower details.

6. Make sure you use gel pens or good quality felt-tip markers for writing on your baby shower invitations. It would be terrible to spend so much time on an invitation and have the writing smear all over the place.

Have fun creating your own baby shower invitations!
