A Baby Shower Favor That Won’t Get Thrown Away
If you have ever hosted a party of any kind, you know how hard it is to come up with good favors. Baby shower favors are no exception, being especially difficult. If only showers were like the parties we used to go to as kids, where you were thrilled to be sent home with a rubber ball and a few Pixy Stix!
Unfortunately, now everyone feels like they have to be extra cute, serious, or poignant with the baby shower favor. Not so! I think guests would be perfectly fine with something they could use at home, as opposed to some favor that will 1)get thrown away or 2)sit on a shelf and collect dust.
With that in mind, I have a few ideas for baby shower favors that will not end up in the trash can.
1. For “baby soft skin” you could give each guest a nice purse-size hand lotion.
2. If you want a baby shower favor along those same lines but different, give them “baby soft lips”—a good quality lip gloss (Don’t waste money on that stuff that fifth graders like to wear because it tastes like wax and sugar.)
3. To make your guests’ homes “baby fresh” you could give each one a small scented candle in a baby powder scent.
4. So they can “sleep like a baby” give them small lavender sachets for their pillows.
5. If you want to say “Baby Yourself,” make the prizes for the games different beauty items like salt scrubs, loofahs, or bubble bath.
To tie in the baby shower theme with any of these, all you have to do is attach a note explaining the theme. Have fun coming up with creative ideas for baby shower favors—your guests will appreciate it!
